Q & A: How much should I spend on an engagement ring?

question of Will : How much I spend on an engagement ring should be Hi, I'm in the process of buying an engagement ring and I need some help on the size. I'm pretty comfortable with all the other C's, but I'm trying to figure out how much to spend. I have heard all the cliché things about 2 months salary etc, and still not really sure. I know the other 3 C's will play in the price, but I have a little flexibility in my Haushalt. So a few data points: 1 I'm a little more than $ 100K per year 2. Part of me does not like the idea of buying a really big ring, I have in my head that I buy a ring from 1.0 to 1.5 carat setzen.3. I am a little concerned that 1carat ring looks small on their hands. It is a big girl 5'10 ~ £ 145 with medium-large hands ... (She says they are great, but not so much:) .4. She comes from a wealthy family, but is very laid back and not be so noticeable in things. It is more conservative / timeless kind of person. Although they do not have that 0.7 carat diamond earrings ... a 1 carat ring could bekommen.5 made by the shadow of earrings. We talked a bit and it definitely made it clear that the north of 1 carat was a must and they have some preferences diskutiert.6. I always had my plan in my head that 1 carat and a really nice band wanted, now that seems a little small. I'm leaning towards the rings in the 1.15 to 1.3 carats. There is a 1.15 stone I saw that I loved, but it was well below my budget. I could be more money for recruitment, but it is not as financially klug.7. I originally had a budget of 12K, but I could go up to 15K or go tiefer.8. I'm friends with one of their meeting today evening and can hopefully help would be much size to diskutieren.Jede dankbar.Danke, Best Answer: Wed reply Yanelle G
If budget is no big deal, I would go with the higher carat but try to balance that for the quality. I'm 5'10 and my ring is 1.5 carats. A small diamond wouldve looked a little strange. You can also go with a smaller diamond (1.3 or 1.25) and one with diamonds on the band, like a pave setting. Also, the thicker the band, the smaller the diamonds will look like, so go for a 2-mm band, if you can. Hope this helps.
