Yes you do. The skin on the hands is very thin, so there is little barrier between the needle and the bone. I would rate the pain at eight. Also, I should warn you that hand tattoos tend to "spring", as when ink bleeds on a piece of paper. A few years down the road, your tattoos will be blurred and very hard to read. know better?
