A difference between a 10kt & 14kt white gold ring?

QUESTION by Ashley : difference between a 10kt & 14kt White Gold Ring A Although this is * not * wedding question, it is a ring issue and I'm sure everything what you brides-to-be and women can give me an exact answer:) I do not know much about jewelry ... My mother has 1 ct. Diamonds for each of my siblings and I. She gave me my diamond and I have planned to turn it into a ring for my college graduation. I've gone to many jewelry stores but I am harassed every time I buy into an expensive device. As a recent college grad, I'm not a big budget and want it easy to hold. I waited to make the ring for the last 10 years because my mother told me about it ... it has a lot of meaning for me as my father gave her the diamond, if it was my age. I did some research online and have found some settings that are cheaper to fit what I'm looking shine. However, I do not know much about a white gold and what would be the difference between a 10k and 14k white gold setting to be. I know that 14k is obviously better, but there is so much better to spend nearly $ 300 more? The diamond was a few weeks and assessed value is a lot of $ $ , so I was told that I should put them in an overly expensive setting. I think if I down the road, take the diamond a little more imagination, I will but until then I want something that fits in my budget to do so wish. 10k white gold is very terrible? What are the differences between 10k and 14k white gold? It is noticeable, someone I would show the ring? The only relatively cheap 14k white gold setting I found was at Jared's for $ 199, but I do not think, love, love it. I found a 10kt. Setting that is actually a bit more, but I like it. I feel like the people who are working at the jewelry stores are just trying to get it from me and me alone can not only look ... Suggestions? :) I will wear it because it is something special for me. Plain and Simple! Instead of buying a college class ring from my university, I kept the money for that special ring. It has significant meaning for me - something my mother would have me put aside for a time that I deserve it the most. The 14K setting will be stronger ... there are fewer and gold alloy, which it power. You may not notice the difference visually at first, but possibly over time. I would the money into something that will keep the stone safe invest ... always have the setting checked every 6 months. Then when you are ready to stand Platinum upgrade to the test of time.
