Wedding / Engagement Ring customs?

question of vchen91745 : Wedding / Engagement Ring in. Hey everyone, I grew up in Southern California throughout the Asian and Hispanic neighborhoods, and I was always under the impression that the general custom? was for the woman's engagement ring with the wedding ring is replaced after the marriage. Many Chinese-immigrants (like my mother) do not even bother wearing the wedding ring, and preferred the safe to halten. So when I moved to Ohio, I found it strange that married women who have not only their wedding band but they continue to take her engagement ring on the same finger. Sometimes they even have the assurance jeweler both rings in a "Super Ring". When I asked about it, they said, "Well, my husband spent so much money on the engagement ring, so of course I will continue to take, and also to show," My question: First of all, I'm crazy, or am I correct to say this is not a common practice on the west coast? Is this a Midwestern tradition? A white hot? An Ohio thing? Or is it an American mainstream cultural aspect that I made during my years was screened in the Asian ghetto of Southern California? Just curious, thanks Best Answer: Wed response from Disney fanatic
I've always thought that you wear both. That's what everyone I know and I have not and married for over 18 years. My mother and so not everyone in the vicinity els (New England) I assumed it was like the world.
